Cheyenne Fire Rescue to Conduct Aerial Ladder Training Throughout the City This Week
CHEYENNE, WY – Cheyenne Fire Rescue (CFR) will be conducting aerial ladder training throughout the City of Cheyenne this week as part of its ongoing commitment to preparedness, firefighter safety, and public service excellence. Residents and visitors may notice CFR’s ladder trucks operating in various neighborhoods, commercial areas, and training locations during the week.
This essential training focuses on the use of CFR’s aerial apparatus, including extending ladders to upper stories of buildings, simulating elevated rescues, and practicing elevated water streams. These scenarios are vital to ensuring CFR personnel maintain proficiency in operating large apparatus safely and effectively under real-world conditions.
“The aerial ladder is one of our most critical tools for high-angle rescues, ventilation operations, and fire suppression in multi-story structures, and our crews train regularly to stay sharp, adapt to new techniques, and ensure we can respond confidently to a wide range of emergencies.”
Training exercises may include setting up ladders near public buildings, parking structures, and residential areas. CFR assures the community that these are strictly training operations and not actual emergencies. All drills will be conducted with safety as the top priority, with minimal impact on traffic and public spaces.
CFR appreciates the public’s cooperation and understanding during these necessary training sessions. If community members have questions or concerns during the drills, they are encouraged to approach firefighters on scene, who will be happy to explain the training activities.
