Cheyenne Fire Rescue will be starting a brand new program in the fall of 2025. Called Community EMS, one might recognize other names for such a program as Community Paramedics or Mobile Integrated Health. Community EMS is a patient-centered approach that utilizes mobile resources to deliver healthcare services outside of traditional settings, aiming to improve patient outcomes and reduce unnecessary emergency room visits.
The program will be able to refer patients to the many resources available in Laramie County, perform home visits and check for safety in the home. Initially we will focus on performing voluntary home safety inspections: looking to prevent falls, medication reconciliation, as well as smoke and carbon monoxide detector installation or replacement. If you are interested in taking part of this program or know someone who would benefit please call us at (307) 637-6311 for an appointment today.
