Cheyenne Fire would like to thank and congratulate Lieutenant Jeff Shaffer on his dedicated service and now retirement to the City of Cheyenne and Cheyenne Fire. Jeff dedicated 24 years and 11 months of service to the City and Department. He had many accomplishments through his years of service; He built the initial library and safety rails at headquarters all while obtaining FFI and II EMT-B and FAO within his first year. When he hit his first year anniversary he was already ahead of the game and made sure he had all his certifications necessary to step up into the roll of acting engineer. Following his early success, he was appointed to the technical rescue team and served many years as such while making sure he stayed current in his certifications. Jeff was also the first in his class for CFR and LCCC to become a paramedic. Ten years in and his life ended up taking a different direction which lead him to pursue the prevention side of fire. He would now work days as a fire inspector/investigator. He would obtain the ICC certifications for inspector which would make him the first member of CFR to obtain the highest certifications in Investigations – IAA’s CFI. Jeff finished out his career in the office, well known to many people throughout the Department and the City. Thank you so much for your service and dedication LT. Shaffer, we wish the best for you in your retirement. https://www.facebook.com/cheyennefirerescue
